Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we use it, and your choices when you use CalMate on Google Play.
1. Information we collect
- Account: Name, email, and profile photo from Google Sign-In (we never see your Google password).
- Profile & goals: Height, weight, age, gender, activity level, diet preferences, calorie and macro targets.
- App activity: Meal logs, weight entries, streaks, reminders, chat messages with the AI coach, and optional meal photos.
- Device & usage: Device model, OS version, app version, IP address, and analytics/crash data via Firebase.
- Ads: Google AdMob may use advertising ID and related signals to show and measure ads.
2. Camera and meal photos
Meal scanning uses your camera. Photos are sent to AI providers (OpenAI and/or Google Gemini) to estimate nutrition. Images are processed to provide the feature; we do not use them for advertising. Saved meal entries may store the photo and nutrition data in your account.
3. How we use information
- Provide meal scanning, tracking, AI coach, reminders, and sync across devices.
- Personalize suggestions based on your profile and goals.
- Improve reliability, fix crashes, and operate subscriptions and ads.
- Respond to support requests and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Third-party services
- Google Sign-In & Play Billing — sign-in and purchases (Google Privacy Policy).
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics — usage and crash reporting (Firebase privacy).
- Google AdMob — ads. Reset ad ID in Android: Settings → Google → Ads.
- OpenAI / Google Gemini — meal recognition and AI coach replies. Inputs are sent only to run those features.
5. AI disclaimer
AI-generated nutrition estimates and coaching are for general information only, not medical or dietary advice. Consult a qualified professional before making health decisions.
6. Storage, security, and retention
Data is stored on your device and on our servers using HTTPS. We keep information while your account is active and delete it after account deletion, except where law or backup retention requires longer storage (typically up to 30 days on active systems). Third-party providers may retain data under their own policies.
7. Your choices
- Access & update: Edit profile and settings in the app.
- Delete account: In the app:
Profile → Settings → Delete Account, or email hi@aifitscan.app. - Notifications: Turn off in app or device settings.
- Ads: Manage ad personalization in device settings.
Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete data — contact us at the email above.
8. Children
The app is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.
9. International transfers
Data may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate (including India and the United States).
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change, and material updates may be shown in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
